Making assessment engaging: The Odyssey concept

Your bespoke assessment centre is an experience that should be remembered by your participants for a long time. Your assessors should never feel bored because we build your assessment centre to include variety, humour and surprise.

We do this using our Odyssey concept for exercise design. Our assessment events are based around an evolving theme, which, like a story, has a beginning, a middle and an end. Like a journey or an adventure, assessment exercises developed using the Odyssey approach evoke a range of human emotions and motivations. These vary depending on the purposes and nature of the event, but may include: challenge, passion, humour, feedback, success, surprise and learning for both candidates and assessors.

Creative exercise formats

Rather then rely on tired exercise formats we design assessments that are unique to your needs. We avoid old fashioned group exercises and favour focused group tasks. We avoid in-basket tests and develop analysis exercises based on the real job. We ensure interviews are designed to identify all the critical strengths and concerns associated with each candidate. We ensure that online assessment results gathered at first round are integrated with assessment decisions and interviews at your assessment centre.
