Alliance Boots - Training Meets Psychology

It’s an all-too-common challenge within retail: a new initiative is being embraced by some branches with tremendous results, but other branches are lagging behind. So how do you drive take-up to include the sceptics and doubters as well? Alliance Boots and Criterion Partnership found the answer and it was all about hearts and minds.

The initiative described in this case study is the free ‘Medicines Check-up’ service that is available to Alliance Boots customers and the comprehensive video-based training programme that encouraged pharmacists in the Alliance Boots family to deliver it to their customers.

This initiative was the regional winner of the 2008 National Training Awards and a finalist of the 2008 Personnel Today Awards in the Excellence in Training category.
